**Saruman** is a physical machine residing in the CSL [Machine Room](https://documentation.tjhsst.edu/general/machine-room). It currently serves as one of the [Understudy ](https://documentation.tjhsst.edu/machines/understudy)servers, along with [Fiordland](https://documentation.tjhsst.edu/machines/understudy/server-configuration-2/fiordland).

Saruman was previously named cayman (and before 2017-18 saruman) and was one of three servers running VMware ESXi used to host JCIRN.
